Best wishes to Sherri Dixon, assistant vice president of auxiliary services and contract administration, who retired after 27 years of service. Sherri was celebrated by her peers at a farewell retirement gathering at the District Office on Friday, December 4, 2015.
“Sherri is my friend, colleague, and inspiration,” shared Jackie Lasch, assistant vice president, financial services. “She started as a part-time employee and became an assistant vice president. While working full-time at Valencia, she earned her associates degree from Valencia, went on to earn her bachelor’s degree, and finally a Master in Public Administration (in 18 months!). She accomplished all this while raising three kids and actively participating in her community, including being a founding parent of the Lake Eola Charter School in downtown Orlando. The contributions she made to Valencia are too numerous to list, but on a personal note, I knew I could always count on Sherri if I needed help.”
Your dedication, commitment and many years of service to the College and the students we serve has been significant. On behalf of all your colleagues, we wish you a very happy retirement.
