The importance of humor in creative problem-solving was the focus for a presentation funded by the Freeda Foreman Endowed Chair in Collaborative and Creative Problem-Solving. Winter Park Professor of Reading Jean Marie Fuhrman welcomed Harry van der Schans from Koning Willem I College, Netherlands, to the Winter Park Campus on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Mr. van der Schans offered a morning and afternoon session called “Humor is Serious Business” to campus students, faculty and staff on the role of humor in fostering creativity and critical thinking skills. His presentation was part of an ongoing partnership between Valencia and Koning Willem I College to create connections through the Honors Global Citizen Program. Mr. van der Schans is the De Bono Master Trainer for the Koning Willem I College’s De Bono Center of Expertise.
