Introducing Mike Favorit, Manager of Campus Security for West Campus

A message from Falecia Williams, President, West Campus

Mike-Favorit-270wPlease welcome Michael Favorit, our newly appointed manager, security, for West Campus.  Mike is a two-year veteran of the Orlando Police Department and recently retired as the distinguished rank of police captain.

Within his law enforcement career, he was assigned to patrol, uniform drug unit, in-service training unit, bike patrol in downtown Orlando, recruit training unit coordinator, patrol sergeant, Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation supervisor and commander, internal affairs supervisor, patrol watch commander, airport watch commander, airport deputy division commander, drug enforcement commander, west patrol division commander and the special operations division commander.

Mike has received numerous awards during his tenure with the Orlando Police Department and was a certified law enforcement trainer in almost every area of instruction in the police realm.  He is a graduate from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice administration.

He attended the drug enforcement administration commander course and the Southern Police Institute command officer’s development course. Mike served proudly for 17 years on the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) as a sniper, assault team member, team leader and assistant team commander.  He also commanded the emergency services unit for three years and is a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Mike has a passion for serving his community and is coming to Valencia with a great amount of enthusiasm and vision for the safety and security for all the students, faculty, staff and visitors.
