Know a High School Dancer? Share this Opportunity to Audition for the Valencia Summer Dance Institute

summer-dance-banner-groveFor the 15th year, the Valencia College Department of Dance will provide an opportunity for 15 to 20 talented high school dance students to participate in an intensive, four-week summer program, Monday, June 15 – Saturday, July 11, 2015, that includes classes in ballet, modern, jazz, improvisation and repertory during the 2015 Valencia Summer Dance Institute (VSDI).

Dancers are given the opportunity to work with College and guest personnel in all aspects of a dance performance and will gain valuable classroom lessons on dance technique and instruction in the rehearsal process. The week culminates in a jointly produced dance concert with VSDI and Valencia dancers at the end of the students’ tenure. If selected for the program, the cost to participate is $150.

Auditions for the competitive program will be held for dancers in grades nine through 12 on Valencia ‘s East Campus (Building 6, Room 104) on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Click here for an event flyer to share or display.

Before auditioning, students must complete an application form.
