Making a Difference in Our Community: Kate Baldridge-Hale Helps Find Furever Homes for Homeless PetsShare
The joy of helping animals find their furever home has motivated Kate Baldridge-Hale, professor, English for academic purposes, to volunteer for animal shelters for nearly 10 years.
After moving to Orlando and seeking to continue her furry volunteer efforts, she found the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando — which fit Kate’s values, mission and ideal practices. The Pet Alliance educates, shelters, places and heals pets and their families with compassionate, responsible care.
Today, she has been volunteering with this organization for three years.
When asked what she likes most about volunteering, her answer was simple. “Of course, it is the animals!” she exclaimed. “No matter what is going on in the world or my life, I feel a sense of peace and calmness when I interact with the animals. It is also so rewarding to be able to help an animal find a forever home.”

Throughout Valencia’s 50th anniversary year, to celebrate the College’s service to our community, we will feature stories of Valencia employees who volunteer.
