A message from Christina Hardin, Director, New Student Experience
After an external search, which included 64 candidates, Laura Blasi, director of institutional assessment, and I are pleased to announce that Nichole Jackson has accepted the position of assistant director, learning assessment. Nichole will be working with Laura and me at the District Office on the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)/New Student Experience (NSE) assessment plans. Nichole will be leading the evaluation for the NSE (QEP) to meet the requirements of the plan, help us to learn about our students and report to SACS as required for our accreditation.
Nichole Jackson has been with Valencia for six years, the last four as a full-time instructor of humanities on East Campus. Prior to that, she also taught quantitative reasoning at Rollins College and worked with its grant programs teaching composition, literature and study skills to rising first-generation college students through Upward Bound.
She has a master’s degree in liberal studies and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, both from Rollins College.
In 2013, Nichole served on the QEP co-curricular task force and as the co-chair of the Internationalizing (INZ) the Curriculum committee. She brings her classroom experiences with assessment and her collegewide involvement to the table of work for the New Student Experience.
Join us in welcoming Nichole Jackson.
