A Message from Amy Bosley, Vice President, Organizational Development and Human Resources
Some of our students face unimaginable challenges every day, like 2019 Black Advisory Committee Incentive Award winner Dominique Orr-Tulloch, who is faced with medical issues. Although she is under constant medical care, she was able to maintain a 3.9 GPA. She refuses to fall victim of her circumstances and aspires to major in international business.
That is why, for more than 41 years, the Black Advisory Committee has honored a number of students annually who have persisted and succeeded at the College despite great adversity by holding the Black Advisory Committee Incentive Awards.
Just like in past years, Valencia’s Black Advisory Committee needs your help to make a difference in students’ lives by recommending students you feel are deserving of these honors.
Your recommendations for student award winners will be evaluated by a committee of individuals who represent various areas of the College. Students are selected without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age, marital status, gender, genetic information or disability.
Each nominee must have completed at least 12 hours of course work at Valencia with a GPA of 2.5 or better and be degree seeking.
To nominate a student, click the button below, download and complete the application and email Deborah Xavier, executive assistant, senior, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or send via interoffice mail to DO-21. Nominations are due by Friday, November 22, 2019.Recipients will be honored during an awards ceremony in February. I look forward to receiving your nominations.
