November 2017 West Campus Center for Teaching/Learning Best Practices
ShareEach month, the West Campus Center for Teaching/Learning Innovation (CTLI) team highlights one topic of interest to our learning community in the West Campus Concentrate. We hope that you will find the information engaging and beneficial to your work in teaching and learning.
This month, we feature learning methodologies to develop life-long learners in your classroom.
TED Talk Video: The beauty of what we’ll never know – Pico lyer
In the TED Summit presentation, Pico Iyer indicated, you discover who you are when you are in the midst of adversity or when you are “carried out of yourself,” and, sometimes, you may need to go beyond basic knowledge and tap into life-long learning skills. Furthermore, he stated, “being human is much more important than being fully in the know.” In other words, it is important for people to tap into the skills or resources that will assist them in overcoming an obstacle or resolving a problematic situation.
