Pumpkin Carving Contest Brings Together Students, Employees at Winter Park
ShareNearly 120 students participated as judges for the Winter Park Campus Career Staff Association (CSA) pumpkin carving contest on Wednesday, October 31. Students chose their favorite creation from eight spooky masterpieces carved by employees, which included pumpkins inspired by “Sesame Street” and “The Hunger Games.”
“The competition was fierce,” said Carol D’Avella, administrative assistant for the executive dean of the Winter Park Campus. But the rivalry on this campus was complemented with a healthy message from the college’s Wellness Program. After the pumpkin competition was complete, participants were educated on the nutritional value of pumpkins, including being an excellent source of Vitamin A and fiber.
