Ruby Alvarez Selected for Nursing Leadership Program

A Message from Falecia Williams, President, West and Downtown Campuses

Congratulations to Ruby Alvarez, professor, nursing, who was accepted into the 2019 National League for Nursing (NLN) LEAD program.

LEAD is part of the NLN Leadership Institute in the Center for Transformational Leadership, which focuses on leadership development for nurses in education and practice who aspire to lead. This year-long program provides an opportunity for participants engage with peers and experts to examine issues related to leadership concepts and organizational systems.

Participants have the opportunity to develop strong management and leadership skills; examine key issues in organizational processes; identify ways to develop effective high performing teams; develop the art of negotiation and communication with individuals and within groups; create a three-year, focused career plan; develop and implement a leadership project; and engage in coaching with an executive coach.
