The sleigh bells are ringing, the jingle bells are jingling and Central Florida is quickly transforming into a winter wonderland — at least as best it can.

With winter break beginning next week, the Organizational Communication team wishes you season’s greetings and the happiest of holidays.

As always, it’s been a pleasure to serve you this year by sharing your stories with our Valencia family. So, thank you for helping us celebrate our collegial community by showcasing the great work our teams are doing.

In the spirit of the season, we hope you’ll join us in giving back by contributing to one of the charitable efforts led by Valencia colleagues and students. Here are some opportunities to do just that:

East Campus Student Development Toy Drive: Donate toys for children up to 12 years old to the Student Development and Peace and Justice Institute Toy Drive, benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless. Donations are accepted through Wednesday, December 14, 2016, and can be dropped off in Building 5, Room 212 on the East Campus.

East Campus Phi Theta Kappa/Alpha Gamma Omega Donation Drive: Donate items such as backpacks, chapstick, toothbrushes, shampoo, socks and water for the Phi Theta Kappa/Alpha Gamma Omega Donation Drive, which will support the homeless community of Downtown Orlando. Donations are accepted through Wednesday, December 14, 2016, and can be dropped off in the Student Development Building (Building 5) or Academic Success Center (Building 4) on East Campus.

West Campus Student Government Association and Valencia Volunteer Toy Drive: Donate toys through Friday, December 16, 2016. Toys can be dropped at the Student Government Association or Student Development Office in Building 3. Students in need of toys may pick up toys at the Student Development Office through Friday, December 16, 2016. After that, all remaining toys will be donated to a local organization.

Pulse Memorial LGBT Scholarship: By working together, the minimum $25,000 endowment level can be reached to ensure the scholarship is awarded every year in memory of those lost and in the hopes that future generations will lead a brighter future.

And, as you are out celebrating holiday cheer, be sure to stay safe. Click here for the gift of holiday safety tips from your Valencia security team.
