Spirit Day 2019 a Huge Success at the Downtown Campus

A Message from Falecia Williams, President, West and Downtown Campuses

The Downtown Campus held its very first Spirit Day on Thursday, October 17, 2019. This annual, collegewide celebration was held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in front of the Communications and Media Building. The event was a huge success bringing 212 students out to enjoy the festivities.

As this year’s collegewide theme was “decades,” the Downtown Campus embodied the ‘90s nostalgia’ with games like giant Operation and giant Twister. Students also had the chance to play Plinko for ‘90s themed prizes like slap bracelets, scrunchies and yo-yos.

Because this year’s Spirit Day took place during UCF’s Homecoming Week, we incorporated one of the Knight’s favorite traditions — Spirit Splash! A kiddie pool filled with rubber ducks was present, and if students picked up the winning duck, they received one of the coveted UCF Homecoming rubber ducks.

We look forward to continuing this collegewide tradition.
