In an effort to encourage students to register for spring term and provide direct support, 40 Valencia College employees proactively contacted 31,630 new and returning students between Tuesday, December 1, 2020, and Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Their efforts took 54,466 minutes!
The calling campaign was one initiative, among a number of them, that contributed to our relatively small dip in enrollment compared to the more marked dips (7%+) that other Florida College System institutions experienced.
This effort was truly a collaborative one with Web/Portal Developer Melanie Hardy’s continued leadership developing and maintaining the program’s dashboard and employees in the Talent Sharing program joining the Student Development team to make calls. Part-time staff who were interested in working hours over the break assisted, and Enrollment Services and the Financial Aid teams also worked over break to help students complete their enrollment steps.
Since our first calling campaign in March 2020, employees have called 117,104 new or returning students.
