Students Celebrated During Summer 2019 Nurse Pinning Ceremony

On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, 68 Valencia College students celebrated completion of their Nursing Associate in Science degree during a Pinning Ceremony at Olympia High School — signaling their entry into the healthcare field and commitment to serving others. A total of 48 of these graduates completed the traditional A.S. track and 20 completed the accelerated track.

Historically, nurse pinning ceremonies are a symbolic way of recognizing new graduates and welcoming them into the nursing profession. Upon receipt of their pins, graduates recite the Nightingale Pledge, named in honor of Florence Nightingale, which is a modified version of the Hippocratic Oath.

Valencia College is proud of our graduates and the role they will play in supporting our community’s healthcare needs.
