A Message from Kim Sepich, Vice President, Student Affairs
It’s my honor to officially welcome Daniel Barkowitz to Valencia as the assistant vice president of financial aid and veterans affairs.
Daniel boasts an extensive history in higher education, with leadership positions at institutes like St. Johns River State College, Columbia University, MIT and others. Most recently, he served St. Johns River State College as the dean of enrollment management — overseeing admissions, recruitment, new student orientation, financial aid and veterans affairs for the three-campus Florida state college.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Northeastern University and his master’s degree in human resource education from Boston University.
In his personal life, you can find him writing poetry (you can read his work here), collecting tarot cards, reading and watching science fiction, spending time at Walt Disney World and volunteering with Relay for Life. Daniel also has two kids — one a senior in high school and one a junior in college — that keep him plenty busy.
