A Message from Geraldine Gallagher, Valencia Foundation President and CEO
Please join me in officially welcoming Angela Mendolaro, who began her role as the Valencia Foundation’s chief philanthropy officer on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Angela has more than 20 years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience. Most recently, she served as vice president of development at the Orlando Science Center, where she led a team responsible for securing nearly one third of the annual operating revenue as well as advancing a $30 million comprehensive campaign.
Prior to that, she served as deputy director of leadership giving at Baruch College/City University of New York where she secured a $1 million gift to create the College’s largest-ever alumni scholarship endowment. Prior to Baruch, Angela held numerous positions in the U.S. and overseas — both in the field running educational programs and in administrative roles — with ATD Fourth World, a French international non-governmental organization dedicated to ending poverty.
Angela holds an Master of Public Administration with honors from Baruch College’s Marxe School of Public and International Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and women’s studies from Goucher College. She has also completed master’s-level coursework in corporate communication.
Angela lives in Dr. Phillips with her husband, Mario, their son, Victor, and their dog, Buster.
